Gregor Kleinknecht

Gregor is a dual qualified German Rechtsanwalt and English Solicitor and a partner in the dispute resolution and business services departments at Hunters Solicitors. In addition to a broadly based international commercial dispute resolution practice, dealing with complex and high value cross-border and multi-jurisdictional arbitration and litigation cases, he has a specialist practice in art and cultural heritage law, where he conducts both transactional and dispute resolution work for a wide range of national and international artists, collectors, galleries, dealers, art consultants, funding organisations and museums; Gregor also advises and has successfully acted for claimants in Holocaust restitution claims.

Gregor is an experienced arbitrator and has conducted ad hoc and institutional arbitration proceedings both as a party representative and as an arbitrator or panel neutral. Gregor is also an accredited mediator with ADR Group, where he brings his experience with both the civil law and the common law traditions and with differing business cultures as well as his language skills to bear in building bridges between parties and guiding them pro-actively to a mutually acceptable resolution of their disputes.

Gregor is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a founding member of the Professional Advisers to the International Art Market (PAIAM) and of the Art Investment Council, and a member of the Institute of Art and Law (IAL), Centre du Droit de l’Art, Lawyers’ Committee for Cultural Heritage Preservation, Institut für Kunst und Recht, the Arts Club and the Fondation Maeght.

He frequently speaks on dispute resolution and art law related topics and his articles have been widely published.
